Default Makes sense

Yes, some of that makes sense. Thanks Scott. Anything pertinent from the international conference on vibration that you can share with us? Where was the conference, who talked and about what, etc? Sounds exciting!

Hey

the meeting was in Chicago and had delegates from India, Japan, UK, US, Germany, Holland, Belgium, South America, Spain and Portugal. It was actually created and delievered by us and launched all new research findings, certifications and methodology. Very exciting event and really amazing to share with people from all regions and cultures. Great way to see what is really happening with vibration training from those who coach and teach it to thousands of people. Much of what is being done is indeed derived from and supported by research, yet...(not surprisingly) so many great applications come from pioneering coaches, clinicians and educators who simply objectively monitor what they are doing and do***ent results.

thanks for asking!

Default Hot topic: vibration training and athletic performance

See National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and click on hot topics to read an excellent short summary article on vibration and athletic performance by Dr. Jeff McBride.

Scott,
In a previous message in this forum you stated that Power Plate vibrations are 3D. I think that is not correct.
  1. The vibrations along the horizontal directions are much, much smaller, and are an unintentional effect; since it would cost a lot to dampen these vibrations, and their side effect is not that important, it's preferable to just leave them alone.
  2. Geometrically, if you one moves something along three different axis at the same frequency, what one obtains is a motion along either a diagonal (or at most along a very squashed ellipsis if the phases on the three axes are different).

Default No answer from Scott or Power Plate?

I noticed since the above post by gciriani there has been no response from Scott or Power Plate. There's an interesting article at Whole Body Vibration Training - Advice for Consumers titled "Whole Body Vibration: Industry Clean Up."

Perhaps Scott Hopson is not with Power Plate anymore, see this paragraph about him, which doesn't mention that company.

Can the moderator of this forum confirm if Power Plate is still a sponsor of Core Performance or not?

PowerPlate is definitely still one of our sponsors, but I have not been in touch with Scott Hopson recently. I'll reach out to him.

Wow!
